Pan-Afrique

  • Africa is the home of the written word according to history, with Writing having originated in Egypt through the Hieroglyphics. Unfortunately somewhere in history this was lost and except for Ethiopia and a few pockets of communities in West Africa, there is no writing system that unites the people of African decent, one called African. We can look at different writing patterns and identify them to different nationalities but we have nothing that identifies as African font.
    Pan -Afrique is the neo-glyphics derived from the African symbols and artifacts around the continent. Its aim is to recapture the lost art of symbolic writing and to give voice to the symbols, artifacts and a writing identity for the African Continent and its children in the diaspora.

Cree Syllabics

  • The Cree language is one of endangered languages having been affected by colonization.
    Our goal working with the communities and elders to repopulate the language though Cree syllabic symbols.
    Through our approach it is possible to learn and use syllabic symbols in half a day. Learning syllabic symbols is a fun activity, at the same time syllabics help shorten Cree Words which can be very long.
    How approach of learning from the syllabic symbols is exciting, like a treasure hunt for both children and adults. wE move from what is seemingly impossible to what is done everyday.
